Welcome to the Squiggles room

Winter

In our Wanderlust theme this term we are exploring winter trees, hibernation, snowflakes, decoration, mountains, robins, moss, ice, northern lights, mud, rocks and worms. We will also be exploring the country China, Valentines Day and Random Acts of Kindness Day.

We have been exploring robins!

The children have been busy making their own bird feeders! They listened to instructions about being careful with the knife. They spreaded the lard onto the tube and then added the bird seeds. Then we hung them outside in our wildlife garden.

We have enjoyed making icicles using tin foil, paint and glitter. We had lots of fun squeezing the foil into the icicle shape! (the squeezing will help us with our fine motor skills)

The children enjoyed exploring a tuff tray activity with rice and Chinese objects. Using their fine motor skills, they have been using the chopsticks to pick up the rice, also enjoying the different textures.

During another activity, Squiggles have been practicing their Chinese writing! They copied the first initial of their name and did lots of mark making onto their paper!
